The Grindstone

April 27, 2018

The Grindstone is a local culinary and artisan store in St Augustine that carries unique products which are not available in the market anywhere. They carry over 100 different Teas and Single Origin, Traceable Olive Oil to Non GMO spices. Get to know them a little better. You will be glad you did!

How did you come up with your business name?

There is a reference in the mythological books about grinding the spices into mortar and Pestle in the ancient times and that is how the name of the store originated from “The Grindstone”.

How do you choose the spices and teas that you offer to your customers?

We have a dedicated team that chooses our spices and teas for our customers.  They base their choices on growing trends in the food world and years of experience in the food industry with the ingredients and health benefits in mind.

Are there any products that are exclusive to the Grindstone?

We have several products that are exclusive to The Grindstone or in our own brand,  however the one we are most proud of is our Ellora Farms Olive Oil.  Not only is it one of the finest olive oils in the world, it is Single Origin, Single Estate, Single variety olives and completely traceable all the way back to the grove in which the olives were harvested. At the Grindstone we believe in knowing the source of our food for a Healthy Tomorrow, Today !

What is your favorite quote and why?

"Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are." - Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin

I believe that this quote rings true.  We are creatures of habit and therefore it is our responsibility at The Grindstone to allow our customers access to the best sourced and healthiest products available.

Is there anything you would like the public to know about you?

At the grindstone, our vision is to offer highest quality, ethically produced healthy food solutions while

adopting and practicing ethical & sustainable practices from the farms to the consumers.
